Deadly Jamaica Plain Stabbing Sparked By Boyfriend's 'Explicit Photos': Report

A 16-year-old girl is accused of stabbing a 21-year-old woman to death and seriously injuring a 17-year-old girl after her boyfriend allegedly sent both victims explicit photos, reports said.

Wilmary Mejia appeared in West Roxbury Municipal Court on charges of murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection to the stabbing that happened in Boston over the weekend, Boston25 reports

Prosecutors allege the altercation happened after Mejia's boyfriend sent explicit photos to both women, the outlet continued. Mejia allegedly took a bus was was "determined to fight" the other women, Boston25 and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office reports.

”The scope of this tragedy is immense," Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a statement. "One young woman is dead, another is seriously injured, and a third is entering a life-altering journey through the court system. The trauma of this incident touches all of them, and all of their families. It also touches anyone who hopes and prays for a community less beset by pain and loss.” 

Police were called to a home at 5 Woodside Avenue in Jamaica Plain just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, Boston Police report. Before arriving, officers learned that two woman suffering from multiple stab wounds ran into nearby BPD's precinct.

Both women were brought to local hospitals where the 21-year-old, later identified as Brianna Brown, was pronounced dead. The 17-year-old is expected to survive. Both were stabbed in the chest while the deceased woman was also stabbed in the neck, Boston25 reports.

Mejia was later arrested at a construction site where a knife was also found, the DA's Office reports. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and charged with murder. 

Mejia, who is being tried as an adult, was ordered held without bail following her arraignment, according to the DA's Office. She will come back to court for a probable cause hearing on March 24.
